Camp Paradise

Summer Camp:

Camp Paradise offers 2 weeks of themed vacations for school age youth with and without developmental disabilities and 6 weeks of themed vacation for adults with developmental disabilities during the summer months.  Both day and residential camp is available.  Campers enjoy swimming, crafts, indoor and outdoor games and theme related activities.  The 2011 brochure and application will be available February 2011.

Respite Camp:

Mini respite camps are offered during the school year for school age youth.  The goal of the program is to provide a safe recreational event for individuals with developmental disabilities and to allow caregivers an opportunity to run errands or just relax.  The 2011-2012 schedule is as follows: 

• Harvest Time in Paradise:  October 8 - October 9, 2011 Harvest Time Camp Packet
• Holiday in Paradise:  December 2011
• February 2012:  Date and theme to be announced

Camp Facilities:

Camp Paradise provides a wonderful environment for both indoor and outdoor activities.  Established in 1967, the facilities include a lodge, sleeping cabins, craft cabin, two picnic pavilions, the Stone Natatorium (with both a pool and a whirlpool), basketball court and therapeutic play area.  The camp can be utilized by outside groups and organizations for meeting space and by community members for reunions, parties and other special events.  To find out how to reserve the Camp Paradise facilities for your special event, please contact the SHC office.
